Aventurine Red Metallic is one of the most underrated colors BMW offers on the G80 M3. In overcast light it reads as a deep oxblood; under direct sun it lights up with a rich cherry shimmer that flat reds never touch. A finish like that deserves protection that preserves every bit of its depth — and that's exactly what this M3 Competition rolled into the shop for.

The Build

This G80 M3 came in for our full-vehicle protection package:

• Full-body Paint Protection Film covering every painted panel, edge to edge
• Ceramic coating layered over the PPF and exposed surfaces (wheels, glass, trim)

Wrapping the entire car in PPF means no exposed paint up front to chip, no half-hood "line" that ages differently than the rest of the panel, and no vulnerable rocker panels collecting road rash from Texas highways. The ceramic on top adds chemical resistance, easier washes, and a hydrophobic finish that keeps the Aventurine Red looking liquid-deep.



Why Full PPF on a G80 M3

The S58-powered M3 is a car you actually want to drive — daily, on track days, on weekend canyon runs. That use case is exactly what kills paint: stone chips on the hood, swirl marks from frequent washes, etching from bug splatter and bird droppings. Self-healing PPF takes the hits so the factory clear coat doesn't.
